Hello! I’m Karen Fielding and I’m the founder and owner of The Natural Flower Field Co. I work in harmony with nature and the seasons, growing flowers with a lot of love in Piddinghoe, a small village along the lower Ouse valley between Newhaven and Lewes in East Sussex. My flowers are nurtured from seed to harvest with care and respect for the environment using organic practices. I never use artificial chemicals or pesticides and only use peat free compost.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a love of growing and gardening. I have fond memories tending my Grandmother’s garden and was lucky to have a dedicated growing space in my parent’s garden when I was growing up. I’ve always loved growing plants from seed and nurturing them into healthy plants producing blooms not only for cutting but also essential food for pollinators.
After an unexpected change in my working hours in Autumn 2021 and completing an online flower farming course, I started selling my flowers instead of giving them away to friends and family, and that was the beginning of The Natural Flower Field Co!
My flowers are available from the end of March through to mid-October. They and are full of movement, texture and scent, and are harvested at their peak for a fresh garden gathered look.
I offer bouquets and subscriptions, DIY event buckets, wedding flowers, farewell flowers and dried flowers.
